Change Video Speed
Speed up or slow down a video — from 0.25× to 4× speed.
Upload a video and choose a playback speed multiplier. Audio pitch is adjusted automatically.
Speed changes are one of the most popular creative video effects. Slow motion makes action sequences more dramatic; fast-forward compresses long time-lapses into brief clips. Our tool handles both directions across a wide range.
Audio pitch correction is applied automatically using the atempo filter, which maintains a natural-sounding voice or music track at the new speed. Without this, sped-up voices would sound chipmunk-like; slowed-down audio would sound unnatural.
For speeds outside the 0.5× to 2× range, ffmpeg requires chaining multiple atempo filters. Our backend handles this automatically — you can choose any speed from 0.25× to 4× and the audio remains properly pitched.
How to use Change Video Speed
- Step 1: Upload your video (MP4, WebM, MOV, or AVI).
- Step 2: Choose your speed multiplier: 0.25× for slow motion, 0.5×, 1.5×, 2×, or up to 4× for fast-forward.
- Step 3: Click "Convert now" and download your speed-adjusted video. Audio pitch is preserved automatically.
