Mute Video
Remove audio from a video file completely.
Upload a video and get back an MP4 with no audio track — video quality is preserved by stream copying.
Muting a video is useful when you want to replace the audio with your own soundtrack, remove background noise or copyrighted music, or prepare a clip for embedding in a presentation without sound.
Because we only drop the audio stream and copy the video stream as-is (using ffmpeg's stream copy mode), the muting operation is extremely fast — large files complete in seconds. No quality is lost in the video because no re-encoding occurs.
You can add new audio to the muted video using any desktop video editor. Or use our Extract Audio tool on another video to get the audio track you want to pair with it.
How to use Mute Video
- Step 1: Upload your video (MP4, WebM, MOV, or AVI).
- Step 2: Click "Convert now" — the audio track is removed without re-encoding the video.
- Step 3: Download your silent MP4. The video quality is identical to the original.
