Video Resizer

Resize a video to any width or height while preserving aspect ratio.

Enter a width, height, or both. The video is re-encoded to your target dimensions.

Video files need to be resized for many reasons: social platforms enforce specific aspect ratios and dimensions, email attachments have size limits, and mobile viewers benefit from smaller files. Our resizer re-encodes the video at your chosen dimensions using H.264.

When you specify only one dimension (width or height), the other is calculated automatically to preserve the original aspect ratio. When you specify both and the ratio differs from the original, the video is scaled to fit inside the box with the aspect ratio maintained — no stretching or distortion.

Resizing always requires re-encoding. We use a constant rate factor (CRF) setting of 23, which gives a good balance of quality and file size for web use.

How to use Video Resizer

  1. Step 1: Upload your video (MP4, WebM, MOV, or AVI).
  2. Step 2: Enter your target width and/or height in pixels. Leave one blank to resize proportionally. Specifying both forces the video to fit inside that box.
  3. Step 3: Click "Convert now" and download your resized MP4.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is aspect ratio preserved?

Yes, unless you specify both width and height. In that case the video is fit inside the box with black padding.
